Blueberry Girl - Charles Vess, Neil Gaiman Blueberry Girl made me tear up as I read it to our toddler Sigourney. Such a beautiful "prayer" for a mom and soon-to-be-born daughter! Charles Vess' drawings are vibrant and visually interesting enough to hold the attention of an almost 3-year-old. And the message is empowering for daughters and mothers, I think. If you aren't into expansive imagery of the divine, or if you need God to be represented as an old man with white flowing beard, don't bother with this one. It'll just hack you off.

A good one!
